Crispy, extra crispy, double dipped, spicy, mild, extra spicy -- fried chicken is served a lot of ways in a lot of wonderful places in New Orleans. It’s a staple on menus across the South. So, come sample some of the best at the National Fried Chicken Festival presented by Raising Canes on September 20-22 at Woldenberg Park.
The free, outdoor festival is expanding to 3 days in 2019. It will have food from more than 35 restaurants, music on two stages, a cooking demonstration stage, and family-friendly activities, as well as a fried chicken tender eating contest. And, naturally, the chefs compete in a best-fried chicken contest judged by local and national food critics.
Dance while you dine at the main-stage on the Great Lawn or at the local DJ stage. Swing by the cooking demo stage for some tips from some of the best chefs in the United States. Participate in the Fried Chicken Scavenger Hunt to win some swag.
Expect to sample dozens of chicken dishes from sandwiches to wings, with numerous sides. Over 30 vendors will be participating, both local and national. Past vendors have included Blue Oak BBQ, Bonafried, Willie's Chicken Shack, and Veganation- to name a few. With this is in mind, that gives you more reason to make plans to indulge in the crispiest bites around town at the Fried Chicken Festival!
