Located in Louis Armstrong Park, the Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts is a performing arts theater in New Orleans. Aamidst decades of world class theatre, opera, dance and musical performances, the City Council voted to rename the Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts in honor of the famed and beloved New Orleans gospel singer.
On January 19th, Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts will present Jaws in Concert. Based on the best-selling novel by Peter Benchley and directed by Steven Spielberg, this masterpiece of suspense tells the tale of a small, New England seaside community terrorized by a predatory great white shark during the busiest weekend of the tourist season—the 4th of July.
