Queen was one of the most popular, ambitious and beloved classic rock bands ever. More recently, Queen saw the release of the 2018 feature film Bohemian Rhapsody, which focuses on the band’s formative years and the period leading up to the celebrated performance at the 1985 Live Aid concert. The film has grossed over $900 million worldwide, making it the highest-grossing musical biographical film of all time, and helped bring the band back into the spotlight once more.
Since the tragic passing of charismatic frontman, lead vocalist, and piano player Freddie Mercury, Queen tours with former American Idol contestant Adam Lambert, who ably fills in for Mercury on lead vocals. Lambert is an American singer who competed in the eighth season of American Idol in 2009. His tremendous vocal range and theatrical flair made his performances memorable, and he finished second. His first post-Idol album, For Your Entertainment, debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart.
